After graduating from Harvard, Tony Conrad began playing music with La Monte Young and the Theatre of Eternal Music, along with John Cale, and Marian Zazeela, and created the music for Jack Smith's Flaming Creatures and Normal Love. His film Flicker, consisting entirely of black-and white frames, was shown at the New York Film Festival in 1966.
