When Henry Geldzahler met Warhol in July 1960, he had just started working for the Metropolitan Museum. He became an advisor, phone-mate, and friend to Warhol, and his critical support was essential to understanding the Pop phenomenon. He was essential to Warhol’s career until early 1967, when their relationship cooled. Geldzahler is the subject of an early long film portrait, Henry Geldzahler.
