The dance revolution that was staged at the Judson Church from 1963 to 1964 was an improvisational outgrowth of a class by James Waring, and it included such dancers as Freddie Herko, Yvonne Rainer, Lucinda Childs, Carolee Schneemann and many others. Billy Name designed lighting for this group, and Warhol attended some of their performances.
