(born Grosse Pointe, Michigan, December 31, 1924)

Taylor Mead was nearing forty when he met Warhol in the fall of 1963, and his presence was already established through Ron Rice's popular underground film, The Flower Thief. Mead had spent many years wandering around America and writing poetry before coming to the Factory. He starred in a 1963 film, Tarzan and Jane Regained, Sort Of, as well as Taylor Mead's Ass, Lonesome Cowboys, and Nude Restaurant.
